At least 50% of the maximum number of points is required for a positive assessment.Regular and active participation is expected as an inherent part of the assessment. Study of Thebes and the Theban area during the New Kingdom (ca. 1539-1077 BC). The most important sites (necropoleis, temples, settlements) will be examined in detail through the archaeological remains.The course provides the students with a detailed knowledge of one aspect of the culture of ancient Egypt, with a focus on archaeology, built environment, material culture and art.
The aims of the course are to:
- provide students with the opportunity to study at an advanced level a substantive subject in the field of Egyptology.
- prepare students for research in the archaeology and culture of ancient Egypt.
- to give students training in a range of general skills, such as writing, presentation and data analysis.
