___________The class will be divided into 2 units, both obligatory.The first part will consist of theory behind the visualisation and will be taught virtually.The second part will be of practical nature, where a computer-aided visualisation will be created. Depending on the pandemic situation and students’ own hardware situation this part will be done in a virtual, hybrid or presence manner. If university computers are going to be needed, the course will be held in the GIS-Labor. This will be determined at a later date.

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
Die Lehrveranstaltung vermittelt Grundlagen zur weiterführenden Bearbeitung von Ergebnissen archäologischer Maßnahmen mit einem Schwerpunkt in der Visualisierung von 3D-Daten zum Zweck weiterer Analysen, Interpretationen und Präsentationen.The course will consist of 2 parts. In the first part, the students will learn the theory of virtual visualisation. We will look at the development of the field and the planning of a virtual visualisation according to a field specific workflow. In the second part, students will participate in the creation ofpractical a virtual visualisation of an specific archaeological site. This will include visualisation of data as required by BDA (Bundesdekmalamt) and a virtual 3D visualisation. Relevant open-source programs are going to be presented and used (e.g. Cloudcompare, Blender).
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
Students will be given data to create their own project plan and visualisation.of an archaeological site. The task will conclude with a short presentation to the class and submission of all required data (working project plan, BDA required section plans, 3d model, rendering).
The students will be given the final project data at the beginning of the course and will be able to work on the project throught the semester.
Due to the pandemic situation, it is possible that final presentations will be done virtually.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
Mindestanforderung für die positive Beurteilung ist die aktive Teilnahme, Mitarbeit bei allen Teilen der
Lehrveranstaltung und eine positive Bewertung aller Teile.
