Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
The course will offer an overview of the history of the Mongol Empire (13th-14th century) and its impact in shaping the cultural, religious, intellectual landscape of Medieval and early modern Eurasia.
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
Students will be guided toward the composition of a final seminar essay. During the semester, students will be evaluated on the base of the following assignments:- regular and active participation in class (5%)
- written assignments (40%):
• Bibliographical essay (10%),
• Book Review (10%),
• source analysis (5%),
• Essay Abstract (15%)- presentation in class (15%) – cancellation possible only if documented and till 24 hours before class at the latest
– weekly assignments (5% bonus points)
- seminar essay (40%)All written assignments can be submitted in English, French, German or Italian

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
Submission of the final essay is a mandatory requirement to pass the course (regardless of the grades achieved with the other assignments during the semester)
