Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Since the Second World War International Courts (Permanent Court of Arbitration, International Court of Justice, International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, etc.) have dealt with a number of cases concerning maritime borders. The research seminar will have a close look at these cases from a historical point of view.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Students have to write a research paper, give an oral presentation, and have to participate in the debates and the review processes.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

Students are expected to attend all classes and meetings, to write a scientific paper (with critical footnotes, 70.000 characters + abstract) and to present the result of their research.

Prüfungsstoff

Guided research, discussion, scientific criticism, writing and presenting the research paper.
