Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The topic of the course is: History and Indigenous Peoples.
Very often, the discourse about the situation and the status of indigenous peoples is the reference to often-far back historical experiences of injustice. The project course Global History is based on selected examples of the historical background of current conflicts over land, resources and self-government rights. There will also be raised the question if legal solutions and political arrangements can recover historical injustice. Examples will be selected according to the interests of the participants from all parts of the world.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Students are expected to attend all classes and meetings, to write a scientific paper (with critical footnotes, 70.000 characters + abstract), and to present the result of their research. The students have to submit the final version of their works latest at August 31, 2018.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

The seminar aims to teach the students how to elaborate in terms of content and methodology the correct processing of a scientific topic.

Prüfungsstoff

Guided research, discussion, scientific criticism, writing and presenting the research paper. The final congress will take place on June 15 and 16, 2018. The participation in the final conference is mandatory!!!
