Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Students are to master some - economic or social - extracts of history of Hungary in the period of Austro-Hungarian Monarchy while learning the subject. They have to be problem-sensitive, prepared to reflect and argue, as well as familiar with current historical research. In addition to general literacy, they should also be able to acquire independent professional knowledge. Future professionals who deal with history or international relations should not visualize individual events in isolation, but in the correlation of cause and effect. It is of great importance to highlight historical people as well and to present their role in politics, economy, cultural history and in the history of ideas. Our goal is to create a historical viewpoint independent of politics and age that is preferably objective and problem-sensitive in the minds of our students.
