Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

This course requires steady preparation and participation throughout its 14 sessions. Relevant are the oral and written presentation, the comment provided as discussant and the participation in the general discussion.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

Acquire knowledge of key concepts of Global History in order to give orientation in this field and to enable students to make use of these concepts for their own studies.

Prüfungsstoff

A corpus of key texts will be provided. Students choose texts, present them and provide a written summary (5-6pp.). After presentation, a discussant or a group of discussants shed light on specific aspects of the text and thus opens a general discussion. The reading of each text is required by all students in each session in order to contribute to this discussion.
