Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The seminary will give an introduction in the different material and techniques which were used in the drawings of the Renaissance and how these techniques and materials developped during the Fifteenth and Sixteenth century. During the seminary students will learn to specify the different techniques and learn to identify the stylistic chracteristics of the different artists. In Addition they will learn to specify the stylistic differences in the various regions in Italy. As a result the students shall be able to describe a drawing, to point at the most important aspects and to specify the special function of the drawing.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

The papers have to be carried forward verbally in front of the originals in the Albertina and have subsequently to be elaborated in a written form. The granding depends not only on the written papers but also on the acticve verbally collaboration during the seminar.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

In the seminary students have to treat the drawings of specific artists. It shall be given a short biographic introduction in the work of the single artist and a characterization of his drawing style using drawings from the Albertina as example. Furthermore it shall be given an overview of the materials the artist used and which relevance drawings had for the artist. Describing the original drawing the student shall also clarify which function had the this specific drawing.

Prüfungsstoff

As the seminary wil take place in the Albertina all relevant questions will be clarified starting from the original drawings which guarantees a more profound examination of the issue. However the students have to clarify if there are other connected drawings and if the drawing was a study for an executed work. To demonstarte this students have to use comparative illustrations.
