Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

In dieser Veranstaltung sollen zunächst die Möglichkeiten einer Periodisierung und Abgrenzung neugriechischer Geschichte erörtert und sodann deren Grundzüge anhand politischer, gesellschaftlicher und kultureller Entwicklungen nachgezeichnet werden. Schwerpunkte bilden dabei die Frage nach dem Fortwirken des kulturellen Erbes von Byzanz, den soziokulturellen Transformationsprozessen im 18. Jahrhundert, der Staats- und Nationswerdung im 19. Jahrhundert sowie schließlich die bewegte Geschichte des Landes in den letzten einhundert Jahren. Neben der Vermittlung von ereignisgeschichtlichem Faktenwissen sollen dabei auch unterschiedliche Forschungsperspektiven vorgestellt und im Hinblick auf ideologische Implikationen kritisch diskutiert werden.
Als einleitende Überblicksvorlesung richtet sich diese LV neben Studierenden der Neogräzistik ausdrücklich auch an interessierte Hörer andere Fachdisziplinen.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Regelmäßige Teilnahme erwünscht und dringend angeraten. Mündliche Abschlussprüfung.
