Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The aim of this course is to assist and support student teachers during their practicum phase with regard to observation techniques, planning tasks, classroom management issues and the evaluation of their observations and teaching experiences. In addition students are introduced to the concept of action research.Core Content: applying theoretical concepts in practice; subject-specific observation techniques; planning EFL language teaching activities and lessons and sequences of lessons professional reflection procedures (individual and collaborative) principles and procedures of action research Method: interactive class with student participation in small-group and all-class discussions of topics related to participants' observations, teaching experience and students' action research projects The main instrument for observation, reflection and discussion is the EPOSTL - European Portfolio for Student Teachers of Languages - please bring your personal copy along for all sessions
