Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The objectives of this course are to prepare students for and accompany them during the Summer School by revising the basic concepts of CLT, lesson planning, classroom management as well as focusing on practical teaching techniques plus the diverse roles and tasks of the EFL teacher, especially for remedial teaching.
Core content:
- Language learners and foreign language learning
- Presenting and explaining
- Planning teaching sequences
- Resources for autonomous learning
- Teaching vocabulary & grammar
- Teaching reading, writing, listening & speaking
- General information on aspects of curricula and syllabuses
- Remedial teaching

Method: lecturer input, discussions, group interaction

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Assessment is mainly based on regular course participation (continuous assessment) and an assignment at the end of the course. The assignment will be written with reference to experiences and issues discussed in class.

2. participate in the course activities;
3. attend class regularly.
