Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
Concepts and strategies of academic work, with special focus on literature and information research; information sources for English and American Studies; academic best practice; information literacy in academic and school environments
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
Attendance, class and online participation, regular assignments, final reflective essay on IRL learning experience, material covered and class and online activities, final written written exam (Multiple Choice).Students are expected to keep a learning diary, which will not be assessed but help with the final reflective essay.
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
Students know fundamental concepts and strategies of academic work, with special focus on literature and information research. They are familiar with the many information resources relating to English and American Studies and are able to make informed choices which to use when addressing academic problems. They know about the requirements of academic best practice. They are able to understand the relevance of information literacy for their future professional practices.
Prüfungsstoff
Blended learning: activating lecture, teacher input, some inverted lecture sessions, individual and group online activities in Moodle and the social media.Students are expected to keep a learning diary, which will not be assessed but help with the final reflective essay.
Literatur
Fortnightly or weekly reading materials will be announced through Moodle.
