Attendance (max. 2 absences)
Part 1: Class participation, smaller (online) assignments, discussions (f2f, online) etc. 10%
Part 2: Poster presentation in class: 25%
Part 3: Paper proposal: 20%
Part 4: PS paper (3,500 words +/-10%): 45%
All parts (1, 2, 3 and 4) must be completed and positive. The pass mark is 60%.

The course provides students with a solid foundation on the state of acquiring a second language or additional languages on various levels (e.g. age of onset of acquisition, cognitive organization, proficiency, socio-cultural background, etc.) and gives them insight into various topics covered by SLA researchers.Aims
- to name relevant theoretical approaches
- to specify cognitive, neurological, socio-cultural and psychological aspects connected to SLA and multilingualism
- to identify basic literature
- to critically analyse and reflect on scientific papers in the field
- to find relevant literature on a specific topic/question
- to prepare students for independent fieldworkMethods
