Information
Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
During the last decades, the interdisciplinary study of law and literature has become a burgeoning and, at times, hotly contested field. In this seminar, we will take a closer look at the potential of this interdisciplinary endeavour and discuss (excerpts from) key texts by leading scholars in the field. In addition, we will analyse a number of longer fictional texts from a "law and literature"-perspective, paying close attention to the ways in which the two disciplines intersect and to how literature opens up new discursive spaces to talk about law, power, and the necessity for legal reform.Due to the ongoing pandemic, this course will be taught online. Participants will be asked to kindly switch on their cameras during sessions to facilitate interaction and in-class discussion.
