In 2009, the Embassy of Ireland and the University of Vienna devised a partnership programme with a view to fostering and strengthening the study of Ireland, its languages, history, politics, society, literature, media, culture(s) etc. Under this scheme a team of renowned international experts in the field of Irish Cultural Studies have been invited to come to Vienna and present a variety of topics and issues contributing to a general analysis of 'Ireland Today'.
