By the end of this course, students will have a detailed overview of theoretical and practical issues surrounding the teaching of English for Specific Purposes (ESP). We will address all aspects of ESP teaching methodology (approach, design, procedure) and the linguistic analyses underlying and relevant to the teaching of ESP (in particular with regard to materials analysis and development). Specific attention will be given to the role of genre and genre-based teaching in ESP, as well as to digital media (including VR) in ESP.
