(b) active class participation
(c) giving presentation on time
(d) uploading / handing in all assignments (on time)
(e) attaining the pass rate of 60 points overall and on at least 4 of 5 components
Grades:
Sehr gut (very good): 90-100
Gut (good): 80-89
Befriedigend (satisfactory): 70-79
Genügend (pass): 60-69
Nicht Genügend (fail): 0-59

Prüfungsstoff
There is no written exam. Materials to prepare the individual tasks will be provided on moodle or selected by students.
Literatur
We will be reading extracts and chapters from Leather and Uden's Extensive Reading: The Role of Motivation (2021), Janice Bland’s Using Literature in English Language Education: Challenging Reading for 8–18 Year Olds, as well as some of the recent work by Amos Paran, Sandra Stadler-Heer and others. We will also discuss articles of the recent volumes of CLELE journal (Children’s Literature in English Language Education).

At the end of this term, students will be able to
- reflect on their own experiences with literature as English learners and compare their beliefs about teaching literature with the available research
- get to know recent literary texts that have potential for English language education
- select aims, materials and methods in accordance with the above and create engaging activities
Methods: readings and discussions, video book review, creative writing exercise, pair/group work for lesson plans and presentations
