Information
Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
This course is an introduction to the short story in Russian literature. The craft of the short story will be explored through close reading & class discussions. When analysing a short story, we will focus on narrative technique to understand and learn the ways in which different writers develop characters, plot & theme. While considering elements such as the context, setting, literary devices, etc., students will attain the comprehension of the literary techniques involved in writing fiction. In addition to achieving all of the above, the course may encourage students to write their own stories.

Literatur
During the term, about 15 stories will be read (don't forget that they are short :) and therefore don't be intimidated). And the reading list will be revealed in the first class. The reason for this is that the additional reading will depend on the choice of presentation.
