Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

An introduction to Classical Syriac: script(s), basic grammar & vocabulary; a few easy texts will be read in class; background information on the history of the Syriac-speaking communities, on lingustic history and on Syriac literature will be given.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Mitarbeit und Abschlußprüfung

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

Grundkenntnisse der Sprache und die Fähigkeit, einfache Texte mit dem Wörterbuch zu übersetzen.

Prüfungsstoff

Grammatikpräsentation (frontal) und Übungen, bei denen Mitarbeit erforderlich ist.
