Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
The grading will be based on an oral examinationa and participation in class. Since my time in Vienna is limited, these exams will be by appointment towards the middle of April.
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
Prerequisites include a good knowledge of Sanskrit and preferably some competence in middle Indic (Prakrits, Apabhramshas, etc.). Some experience with East-Indian mss. is welcome, but not essential.

for contact please use szantopeterdaniel@gmail.comThe goal of the seminar is to read as much as possible the middle-Indic dohās of Saraha in light of new manuscript material.We will discuss the problems of transmission, readings, metrics, exegetical literature, translation, and previous studies.The seminar will be based on the already existing editions and a new draft edition. Materials will be circulated beforehand.
