Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The Lecture on Swahili Texts 2 for progressive students deals with derive from Kiswahili literature . In general, the literature will focus on Kiswahili coastal culture in e.g belief, tradition, wedding, funerals, dancing, religion, songs, upbringing, clothes etc.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Students will be examined on their ability to translate literature texts, write long extended essays, summarize the higher level Kiswahili literal texts, understanding of poems, idiomatic expressions, proverbs, and understand the Kiswahili culture .

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

The aim of the lecture will be to promote and deliver a greater awareness and understanding on Kiswahili literature dating back from 1961. 1 novel and one or two poems are dealt with per semester.
