Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

This course is designed to introduce the basic theory and practices of successful project management tools used in development work. It provides an overview of project management, including project cycle management and related essential approaches and tools such as participatory methodologies and logical framework approach. The course will focus on the practical application of these tools and approaches using real examples of development work.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Regular attendance to classes. Group work and presentation. Essays based on presentation.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

The goal is for the student to be able to gain practical knowledge and skills in development project planning and implementation. After completion of this course, students are expected to be able to: apply theoretical concept and tools to real project planning and management cases; critically appraise methods and approaches used in development work, and understand the importance and application of "participatory" approaches.

Prüfungsstoff

The course is composed of lecture, student group presentation, discussion and practical exercise. The lecture, discussion, presentation and essay writing will all be in English.
