Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
Building upon students’ previous knowledge of African literatures and cognate disciplines, the course will examine some salient linguistic features of europhone African literature. Areas to be covered will include literary collages, paremiology, creolization, code mixing and code switching, agonistic discourse, taboo adherence and taboo breaking.

Presenting of a well-organized paper at the end of the course.
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
Students will:
i. identify and analyze the linguistic traits of African literature written in metropolitan languages
ii. engage with the concept of europhone African literature as a hybrid linguistic creation
iii. determine the place of gender in this textualization
iv. present a well-organized paper at the end of the course
