Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
This course is intended as a continuation of the previous semester's course. In it we will finish the lessons in Arne Ambros' textbook, after which the remainder of the semester will be devoted to reading texts in Maltese, along with more practice with speaking. Keys to the homework assignments will be uploaded to Moodle after each class.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
The end goal of this course is basic competence in Maltese and the ability to translate simple texts with the help of the dictionary.Grading will be based on in-class participation and performance in the presentation and final exam. The final exam will account for 25% of the grade for the course.The grading system is as follows:
5 (0-52): not enough (not keeping up with the homework, homework full of mistakes, poor performance in class and/or on the final exam)
4 (53-65): enough (occasionally turning in the homework, homework and performance in in-class participation and on the final exam indicates some knowledge of the subject, but with much room for improvement)
3 (66-77): satisfactory (keeping up with the homework but without retaining information, homework and/or final exam passable but still not that great)
2 (78-90): good (keeping up with the homework, homework and/or final exam could be improved in terms of certain details but otherwise okay)
1 (91-100): very good (keeping up with the homework, homework and/or final exam has only minor errors, if any)

Prüfungsstoff
At the end of the semester, students will be given a take-home exam. Since this exam is open-book, it is permissible to use any dictionaries or grammars, as well as any power-points from class. More information on the exam will be given towards the end of the semester.
