142066 UE Nagarjuna’s Sixty Verses of Arguments (Yuktisastikakarika) (2022W)

The Yuktiṣaṣṭikā is considered one of Nāgārjuna’s authentic works. The text is not available in its original Sanskrit. However, Lindtner (1982) had already identified 12 of altogether 60 verses from various sources. Ye Shaoyong (2014) could recover another 37 verses on the basis of quotations found in newly discovered Sanskrit manuscripts from Tibet. Prof Ye also discovered and edited a Sanskrit fragment of Candrakīrti’s commentary, which covers verses 25-34. We are thus able to read most of the Tibetan against the backdrop of its Sanskrit original.
