Information
Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
For Texts 2, the main focus will be a continuation of the foundations of Texts 1 where working with factual and literal texts was the main focus. In this semester the lecture hall will transform into a writers room as we work on the "What Would a Zulu do?" blog where students will be tasked with writing Zulu texts relating to topics relating to their research.Included within the course will be an analysis of Zulu texts from multiple sources, with an aim to solidify the students ability to understand and interact with isiZulu texts.
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
The course will continue with a continuous assessment structure, with bi-weekly writting assignments throughout the course. Feedback on texts and language notes will form part of the evaluation structure. For the examination a presentation of a final text and a short book review will be the determining assessments for the final semester grade - combined with the grades achieved for the continuous assessments.
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
To achieve a positive result for the semester, students would need to show a writing ability in isiZulu aligning with a B1 level. Further, ability to correctly translate texts both literally and idiomatically would be assessed as well.
Prüfungsstoff
For the examination a presentation of a final text and a short book review will be the determining assessments for the final semester grade - combined with the grades achieved for the continuous assessments.
Literatur
