Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

This class will help deepen the students' understanding of Chinese grammar in theory and practice and support the acquisition of more advanced and complex sentence or phrase structures, as found in literary, academic and journalistic writing. Teaching will mostly follow the textbook "Mastering Advanced Modern Chinese" (Wu/Yuan, see below for details) and focus on the achievement of advanced linguistic and cultural competence through the reading of texts.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Mid-term test (35%), final exam (45%) and oral contributions in class/class preparation (20%).

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

Regular attendance (max. 3 absences) and active participation in class are required. The mid-term test and final exam will cover all the language material (especially the grammar points) studied in class. Overall scores and corresponding grades: 100-90% Sehr gut, 89-80% Gut, 79-70% Befriedigend, 69-60% Genügend.
