Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

This course continues [UE Japanese Communication]. It introduces new grammar, vocabulary, and oral exercises. This lecture should be taken simultaneously with [UE Japanese Grammar II] and [UE Japanese Writing System].

Goal of these set of courses is to provide a base level of Japanese which allows students to use basic Japanese and lets students further their Japanese language learning independently if needed.

At the end of the second semester students should be able to:
* Communicate orally in various everyday situations;
* Understand basic spoken and written Japanese (with the use of aids, like dictionaries, apps, etc.), including business- or economics- related content written for a general audience;
* Read a few hundred of the most common Kanji;
* Write simple Japanese (with the use of aids), i.e. E-mails;
* Improve their Japanese skills through self-study, with the aid of educational material;

In addition to classroom attendance please plan for approximately 10 hours of self-study to prepare for classes, make homework, memorize vocabulary, Kanji, etc.
