Information
Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
The object of the course is to enable the student to hold a basic conversation in Welsh. The focus will therefore lie on speaking and listening skills. The course will be taught interactively. Active participation during the sessions is thus essential. The students will be expected to revise at home using material from the class as well as other methods suggested during the course.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
Strictly speaking, previous knowledge of Welsh is not required, but if the student does not have any background in the language he/she is strongly advised to follow the parallel course "160203 VO Einführung in eine britannische Sprache (2017S)". Without basic knowledge of the grammar the pace of the course might be too high.
Prüfungsstoff
The assessments will be based on the material from the course until that point.
Literatur
The coursebook Complete Welsh or Teach Yourself Welsh by Julie Brake and Christine Jones. They are the same book, but with different titles. Any edition from 2000 onwards is fine.
