Information
Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
John Fitzgerald Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States. He resided in the White House from 1961 to 1963 for approximately 1000 days, but in spite of his brief tenure of office he is still considered one of the most important chief executives in American history. Kennedy became an icon of popular culture during his lifetime and is still the focus of popular imagination and admiration. We shall discuss selected political issues of domestic and foreign policy with special attention to the changing assessments of the man and his achievements by scholars and laypersons. We will also discuss Kennedy's impact at home and abroad during his lifetime and beyond.
