Active participation in the seminar, teamwork sessions and MEi:CogSci Conference, oral presentation of your thesis in the seminar sessions, writing & uploading your Master’s thesis concept/exposé, extended abstract (1 page, max. 3000 characters) of your Master’s thesis research for the review process, 2 reviews of colleagues' abstracts, final abstract for the conference proceedings, giving a talk at the MEi:CogSci Conference* If you are a "non* University of Vienna MEi:CogSci student, keep in mind that all the rules and deadlines of *this* course apply, however, you also have to take care and comply to deadlines and rules of your home university (e.g., regarding handing in your MA thesis concept/exposé).

*Minimum requirements* for passing this course:
- Successful registration and being accepted for this course
- Your presence at the first meeting (otherwise you will loose your place for this course)
- Active participation in the seminar and teamwork sessions (you may miss max. 2 sessions [please inform the instructor ahead of time!])
- Active participation in the MEi:CogSci Conference (presenting your Master’s Thesis in a talk) and in the peer-review process for the conference (writing an extended abstract (max. 3000 characters), 2 reviews of colleagues' abstracts, final abstract for the conference proceedings following the conference´s format rules)
- oral presentation of your thesis in the seminar sessions
- Master’s thesis concept/exposé (following template provided)
- for further information, deadlines, and upload of your Masters thesis exposé see the MOODLE course (it is open after you have been accepted to this course)Assessment criteria:
40% | oral presentation of your thesis in the seminar sessions
40% | Master’s thesis concept (following template provided; deadline of upload April 30)
10% | Active participation in the seminar and peer-review process for the MEi:CogSci Conference (giving feedback, discussing)
10% | Active participation in the MEi:CogSci Conference (presenting your Master’s Thesis in a talk)%/points | grade

The seminar includes participation in the MEi:CogSci conference (writing an extended abstract, peer-review-process, Presentation/talk at the conference) as a compulsory requirement.* Learning Outcomes:
- Ability to pose and follow a scientific/research question relevant to cognitive science
- Ability to plan, conduct, and document scientific work
- Ability to write an extended scientific abstract
- Ability to defend one’s research and constructively deal with critical remarks
- Ability to participate and contribute in a peer-review process
- Ability to present your research/thesis to an interdisciplinary audience/cognitive science community
