Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The module examines the unity of Kant's philosophical method in the three main areas of his system:

• theoretical philosophy (that is, epistemology and metaphysics),
• practical philosophy (i.e., moral and political philosophy), and
• teleology (in particular, philosophy of art)

Although recent Kantian scholarship has continued the detailed study of Kant's classical texts and although new areas of Kant's philosophy have recently been explored, the question of the methodological unity and contemporary relevance of Kant's system is still being explored. The module will mainly focus on Kant's three Critiques and will examine the systematic unity of Kant’s transcendental philosophy.
