Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
As the title indicates, this course focuses on a close reading of Merleau-Ponty’s Phenomenology of Perception. We will discuss issues such as: the constitution of human experience (perception, action and knowledge); the role of the body in constituting experience; human sexuality; the relationships between us and others; space and time; the relations between phenomenological and scientific approaches to experience; perception in art; and the nature of phenomenology and the role it plays in philosophical debates on the issues above.The course is taught in English.
