Information
Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
The central aim of this seminar is to make students acquainted with a variety of theories on the role of educational interventions in the political project of the making of a people. The core assumption of the seminar is that throughout history educational institutions, practices, and organizations have been instrumentalized to realize a particular representation of the ideal citizen. The seminar is a combination of theoretical sessions in which concepts and approaches are presented and discussed, case studies of historiographies of people-making in schools and universities, and methodologies to research these developments.
