Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

During this seminar we will explore the situation of inclusive education in Europe. By following and analysing different European projects that aim at implementing inclusive education, students will get insights in the different country situations. Choosing different European regions and/or topics for having a closer look at policy development and implementation provides certain perspectives on inclusive education, challenges and barriers. A focus on stakeholder involvement in discussing, planning and the implementation of inclusive education is emphasising the importance of including different perspectives in the process.
The seminar will use different methods to look at the topic of inclusive education for vulnerable learners. Analysing key publications, discussing in groups, elaborating overviews and working on a podcast are some of the main tools that are going to be used during the semester.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Outputs like a podcast, group work, thematical overviews of concepts, and short papers will provide the basis for grading. It is also important to participate actively during the online and face-to-face meetings. Students are required to be present 80% of the whole course. It is also expected that students read and study the seminar literature at home. This will enable us to discuss issues in depth during our meetings.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

This seminar will take place in English language. You need to be able to read and understand English research papers and international documents.
We will work with different methodological approaches. During the semester students will be asked to contribute to different working groups in the seminar. The collected outputs will be evaluated according to the quality of their content, relevant literature used and own contributions and conclusions.
