Information
Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
The course will introduce students to the basic concepts and tools of empirical research. During the semester a small-scale study will be conducted in a secondary school where students will have the chance to implement the acquired theory in practice.
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
Participants will be assessed on the basis of their contribution to a small empirical case-study, their written research paper, oral presentation, and in-class participation.
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
- introduce students to empirical research in schools
- impart basic knowledge about CLIL, bilingual education and assessment
- develop students ability to individually define and work with research questions
- develop students ability to construct an adequate research tools
- introduce qualitative and quantitative research methods (data collection, processing, and analysis/interpretation)
- develop students ability to document and present research results transparently

Prüfungsstoff
Course methods among others include developing and conducting a small research project, classroom and online discussions, in-class tasks, readings, and presentations.
