Information
Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
This course focuses on broadening the perspective on disabilities. Guest speakers from different countries will report on culture-specific aspects of disabilities in the respective context and we will discuss the differences and try to analyse reasons for the global phenomenon of excluding persons with disabilities. Additionally, texts from different corners of the world will be used as a basis to analyse culture- and society-bound differences in appraches towards disability.

The course aims at conveying a culture- and society-sensitive, multifactorial perspective on disabilities.
Prüfungsstoff
Discussions, group work, invited guest speakers, discussion of research articles.
