*** IMPORTANT: **** The final list of participants will be decided during the first lecture on 8.10. in lecture hall C (NIG 6th floor). If you are preregistered but cannot attend the first lecture, you have to send an email with explanations beforehand, otherwise you will lose your spot.
This course will be held in hybrid format: All lectures will take place on site in lecture hall C as long as this is allowed by current Covid regulations. Students will be divided into two groups, which will take turns in participating on site versus remotely in the lectures.

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
In this Proseminar, students will read and critically discuss literature (book chapters and journal articles in English language) on selected topics within the field of Cognitive Neuroscience. The main topics will include hypnosis and empathy. The course will be taught in German. Each student will give a short presentation on a book chapter or article and will afterwards lead a discussion on the text.
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
- All students have to read the assigned literature before each lecture. This will be assessed by means of several short unannounced written online tests conducted during lectures (decides 30% of the overall grade).
- Oral presentation (30% of overall grade)
- Active participation in discussions during lectures (on site and remotely) and on Moodle (40% of overall grade)

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
Good language skills in English and German. Good internet connection for remote participation in lectures. Attendance (on site or online) is compulsory; students may be absent for no more than two lectures.
