Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Preliminary information on the method of holding the LV:
The course will be held on site, in English.
The aim of this course is to provide an insight into the field of social neuroscience through active engagement with scientific literature. We aim to provide you with a better understanding of the biological processes underlying human social behavior.

- Prosocial behavior
- Social Media
- Scarcity and Social Cognition
- Stress and Cognition
- Social Isolation & Loneliness
- Social (fear) Learning

Method:
This course consists of two preparatory sessions, dates for group presentations, and one wrap-up session. Participants will work in small groups on a project throughout the semester. The results of these projects will be presented both at a joint group presentation. In addition, short individual seminar papers will be written on the respective project topic. An essential element of the course are the discussions following the presentations. In addition to the own project work, at least one contribution to other project topics should be written on the teaching platform Moodle. As part of the post-processing of the project presentations, there will be a small test that summarizes the core content of the project topics.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

- Group presentation (35%, individual contributions will be evaluated separately)
- Seminar paper (35%)
- Discussion contributions to other project topics and active participation (15%)
- Final test (15%)

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

Continuous attendance in the sessions is absolutely necessary (a maximum of one missed block appointment or 2 single appointment as a basis for a positive assessment).
The total sum of the partial performances results in the seminar grade. From 60% the seminar is positively completed, the remaining grades result from 10%-steps.
