Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

This course aims to train students at proficiently performing the steps necessary to conduct an empirical study in psychology when starting from nothing but a designated topic (topics will be assigned by the lecturer – see below). This is a 2-semester course program. Attendance to summer semester 2023 course is not mandatory but strongly recommended. This first semester aims to prepare the students to conduct an online experiment or a survey for their bachelor project in summer semester 2023.
The steps:
(1) Become familiar with a topic
(2) Find a research question and formulate hypotheses
(3) Identify and assess the methods available
(4) Design your study
(5) Implement your study
(6) Conduct the study
Program: The students will be taught the steps 1 to 6. Six groups of 4 students each are to be created. Each group will be requested to produce a report for each step from 1 to 4 and will be evaluated on this basis.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
