Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The goal of this class is to develop an understanding of the biological and psychological constructs of stress, and how they relate to male and female fertility. This includes review of scientific literature and critical evaluation of the evidence, summarizing research findings to the class, and leading critical discussions. The course will be divided into three modules: (1) Foundational lectures and discussion, (2) Student-led presentations, and (3) collaborative paper writing.

Participation:
This class has a strong emphasis on participation, involvement in discussions and collaborative work.

Presentation:
Group Presentation (depending on the final number of students in class) on a particular topic and student lead discussion on it.

Collaborative writing:
The students will work together to write an article on stress and how it relates to fertility in men and women. The idea is to foster collaborative work and over time produce one piece as a group. The specifics of the writing assignment will be given in class.

Sections will be graded in class by peers. The instructor will double-check afterwards for the final grade.

The use of artificial intelligence tools (e.g., chat GPT) for class work is strongly discouraged.

• Regular attendance is mandatory (max absenteeism: 2 classes).
• Presentation and leading discussions (40%)
• Active participation in class (30%)
