Information
Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
The aim of this course is to support and move beyond students’ understanding of basic conceptual foundations regarding methods and techniques used in cognitive psychology and neuroscience (with a focus on topics touching social neuroscience and empirical aesthetics). Students will have the opportunity to engage with several different lecturers, each with a differing background expertise. Instead of a one-directional lecture, students will have the opportunity to work in smaller class groups and to engage on a more conversational level with the teacher in order to discuss topics and papers. To this end, the class is focused on active discussion and engagement, as well as the reading of key research papers. We will also schedule lab visits during lecture times to have a hands-on opportunity to see some of the techniques in action.
