Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

This course aims to train students at proficiently performing the steps necessary to conduct an empirical study in psychology when starting from nothing but a designated topic (topics will be assigned by the lecturer – see below). This is a 2-semester course program. Attendance to summer semester 2024 course is not mandatory but strongly recommended. This first semester aims to prepare the students to conduct an online experiment or a survey for their bachelor project in summer semester 2024.
The steps:
(1) Become familiar with a topic
(2) Find a research question and formulate hypotheses
(3) Identify and assess the methods available
(4) Design your study
(5) Implement your study
(6) Conduct the study
