Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

This lecture will critically analyse Latin American and Caribbean counter-speech (with a focus on the 20th century).
We will discuss, among others, the canonical texts of Caribbean authors Aime Cesaire and Frantz Fanon, both of whom are important authors in postcolonial discourse, Enrique Dussel's concept of transmodernity and Quijanos' concept of coloniality.
Finally, we will critically examine Leopoldo Zea's ideas on the emancipation of Latin American thought, the influence of positivism in Latin America, and the philosophy of liberation.
