Ziele
The course aims to introduce disability as an analytical category and to offer an overview of its different genealogies and usages depending on cultural and scholarly contexts. The course also illustrates the analytical force of disability with respect to interdisciplinary research questions.

Weekly lectures held in English. Each lecture will be accompanied by a list of suggested reading and other material. Discussion thereof will be implemented in the lecture. The discussion after the lecture can be conducted in German.

In the forms of lectures, the course presents disability as an analytical and intersectional category. We will discuss intersections of disability with gender, sexuality, ethnicity, race and class. In the second part, we focus on the ways in which neoliberalism(s) challenges some of the key premises of disability theories and politics.
