Students who want who participate in the field practice are also requested to attend the preparatory seminar.
Introduction and admission to both field practice and seminar will take place on Tuesday, March 4th 2015 from 9.45 s.t. to 13.00 in SE-Raum D.
Participation in this first session is obligatory.

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The actual field practice is scheduled from May 28th to June 13th 2015.

As regular flights to and from Armenia are rather costly the decision was made to book a collective flight for all participants. In addition, one common accommodation will be organized. This, requests, however, to collect the expenses in advance. The organizers are applying for financial support for the field practice. The reimbursement will be organized after the field practice.

Methodologically, the field practice will emphasize participant observation and interview techniques. Students will be expected to collect ethnographic data on previously outlined research questions. Throughout the field practice these research questions will be further developed and respective materials collected. Participants should also get acquainted to cooperate in smaller and larger teams, with research assistants and translators. In addition, students will be provided with inputs by the organizers and local scholars (links have been established with colleagues from the Chair of Archeology and Ethnography as well as the Migration Competence Center of Yerevan State University)
