Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Establishing an understanding of the theoretical foundations and methodological tools of feminist and queer economics as well as decolonial approaches.

The course builds on a general introduction to feminist economics. The specific topics for this course are: The economic subject, property formation, the household (microeconomic foundations), labor markets, care economics, an intersectional discussion (race, class, gender) of consumption, the economics of discrimination and an engagement with sustainability and alternative perspective of feminist economics including decolonial thought.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

Students will be required to engage with the course readings and visual materials and discuss specific questions for each of the nine thematic blocks. The presented theory is to be be applied to practical examples in group works. During the course there will be space for Q and A as well as discussions on the course materials.

Prüfungsstoff

Reading the course material and watching the visual materials. Written discussion of specific questions for each of the nine thematic blocks. Group work and presentation.
