Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Ulf Hannerz published in 1991 an article on comsopolitans, as a reflection what the notion may mean in the time of globalization. It raised several critical reflections, and a lot was published afterwards to the topic. Today, we can broadly differentiate between three main trends: (a) a reflection based on the philosophical concept of 'wprld citizen; (b) an empirical approach that studies how people actually do live and experience today, and (c) regional variations of what the notion may mean beyond any Eurocentric perspectives.
