Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Host-researcher-relations in fieldwork relations 'at home' and 'abroad': coping with crises, managing achievements, providing for reciprocity, revising the course, ensuring quality control

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Output assessment:
According to quality of three shares per participant

Minimum requirement for positive grading, including absence rules):
* Existing commitment for a specified MA project that is based on fieldwork
* In-class presence during all seminar sessions (1 absence possible if pre-announced with a good reason)
* Interactive English language skills
* Sufficient acquaintance with assigned literature as communicated during initial meeting, by reading it afterwards

Share of partial contributions toward overall grading):
Written seminar paper (30 %)
Verbal presentation with PPP or handout 40 %
Participation in other presentations’ discussion: 30%

Supportive tools in partial contributions:
*Academic references to published literature

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

Absorbing some of the more recent advances in fieldwork-related debates in the field by assessing relevant publications against participants’ field experiences

Prüfungsstoff

1)Presentation of assigned literature during initial session; formation of seminar sub groups according to chapter(s) of assigned literature;
2) Discussion of assigned literature in subgroups after initial reading
3) presentation of assigned literature through presenters’ field experience in plenary meetings & discussion

Literatur

A hand-out with assigned literature will be disseminated and presented at the initial meeting
