Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
All criteria for evaluation must be fulfilled including the submission of a full research proposal before the deadline. Requirements for the course completion:
1) Regular attendance and active participation in the class (max. 20 points)
2) Development and presentation of own project (max 20 points)
3) Commenting other participants research projects (max 20 points)
3) Final individual draft: 5-8 standard pages, to be submitted by February, 9 2024 at noon (max 40 points).The use of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) for the attainment of partial achievements is only allowed if explicitly requested by the course instructor.

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
Was ist eine kultur- und sozialanthropologische Masterarbeit ? Wie finde ich ein Thema und was sollte ich bei der Themenwahl beachten ? Mit welchen Methoden, Theorien und Konzepten kann ich arbeiten und wie binde ich diese ein ?Im Rahmen des interaktiven Seminars sollen die Studierenden unter Anleitung der Lehrenden sowie mit Peer-Feedback- ein Verständnis für die Anforderungen, Möglichkeiten, Freuden und Herausforderungen einer Masterarbeit in der Kultur-und Sozialanthropologie bekommen
- eine erste Themenidee für ihre Masterarbeit inkl. Forschungsfeld entwickeln
- geeignete Methoden und relevante Literatur für die Bearbeitung des Themas identifizieren
- ein Masterarbeitskonzept verfassen, mit dem sie an potentielle Betreuer:innen herantreten können.Lernziel ist die erfolgreiche Erstellung eines Masterarbeitskonzeptes und dessen Vorstellung im Seminar.
- eine erste Themenidee für ihre Masterarbeit inkl. Forschungsfeld entwickeln
- geeignete Methoden und relevante Literatur für die Bearbeitung des Themas identifizieren
- ein Masterarbeitskonzept verfassen, mit dem sie an potentielle Betreuer:innen herantreten können.Lernziel ist die erfolgreiche Erstellung eines Masterarbeitskonzeptes und dessen Vorstellung im Seminar.
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
Ein schriftliches Forschungskonzept im Umfang von ca. 15.-20.000 Zeichen (inkl. Leerzeichen) wird zu 60 % in die Note einfließen. Der Rest der Note wird durch kurze mündliche Präsentationen und schriftliche Aufgaben sowie durch Mitarbeit und Teilnahme am Seminar bestimmt.
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
Mindestanforderung ist die Einhaltung der Anwesenheitspflicht und die Bearbeitung aller erforderlichen Teilleistungen; weiters muss für jede einzelne beurteilungsrelevante Teilleistung mindestens die Hälfte der dafür vorgesehenen Punkteanzahl erreicht werden. Zwei entschuldigte Abwesenheiten sind zulässig.Notenschlüssel:
91-100 Punkte = 1 (sehr gut)
81-90 Punkte = 2 (gut)
71-80 Punkte = 3 (befriedigend)
61-70 Punkte = 4 (genügend)
